The Watering Hole
Night time in a country side field strewn with boulders and sink holes in Randolph County, West Virginia, a small section of Earth has parted the ground, cradling within it a deep pool of water filled with aquatic life and lily pads, the mirror-like surface painted with stars reflected from the boundless onyx cosmos above; the still pastoral space between filled with a chorus of frogs and barred owls.

My name is Jesse Thornton, a native of Point Pleasant and current resident of Huntington, West Virginia. This state is truly an outdoor mecca with a variety of rich scenery, furnishing different looks throughout the four seasons of the year. Influenced by fantasy and science, my aim is to capture the surreal nature of these landscapes in hopes of encouraging others to discover (or rediscover) the beauty of West Virginia!
Location: Huntington, WV
