About the author:

Carol McCann Lucas, the only girl in a family of six children, was born at her grandmother’s home in Ferrellsburg, West Virginia. She grew up approximately ten miles from the little school, where she began her teaching career in 1965. Having taught home economics most of her career, Carol retired in 2001 and currently resides in Barboursville, West Virginia, with her husband Lonnie to whom she has been married since 1965. Their son TAd and his wife Jess have one son, Dylan.
