Susan Maslowski grew up in Chester, WV, a commercial pottery center. She took private art lessons from Anne and Marvin Triguba, both graduates of Alfred University. From 1960-1969, Susan was an apprentice at the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair. She has an art degree from Glenville State College. Following graduation, Susan served a two-year National Endowment for the Arts apprenticeship with Charles Counts in Rising Fawn, GA. Susan has been the owner of Mud River Pottery since 1975.
