About the Author

Kathleen M. Jacobs holds an M.A. in Humanistic Studies, has taught on the high school and college levels, and was the 2017 New River Gorge Writer-in-Residence. As a young girl, she was influenced to write by her sister and inspired by a response she received to a letter she wrote to Harper Lee. She is the author of works for young readers. About the Illustrator
Award-winning author and illustrator Ashley Teets holds a B.F.A in visual art with a minor in creative writing from Alderson Broaddus College. After two semesters of graduate work at West Virginia University she continued her graduate study through the Simmons College satellite graduate program at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts.
