For 103 years, The Herald-Dispatch has provided a "first draft" of that history each day with its reports of events large and small in the communities of the Tri-State. So it is with great pride that The Herald-Dispatch brings you our second pictorial history book of the Tri-State. This edition focuses on the years from the 1880s through the 1960s and features photographs of earlier generations at work, at school and at play. But this project is also about our future. The proceeds from the sale of this book go to Literacy Outreach, The Herald-Dispatch's program that brings newspapers into local schools, to help upcoming generations understand and connect to their communities and build lifelong habits of reading.
