This is an 11x14 inch fine art print of my watercolor painting featuring some of the ordinary, lovely natural objects that I found on a walk in the September woods of West Virginia. It features: foliose lichen, a red eft salamander, acorns, oak and maple leaves, a pinecone, tiny mushrooms, and Christmas ferns.
Created in West Virginia on richly textured, watercolor-like paper with vibrant inks.
Hello! I’m Rosalie.
I’m an illustrator specializing in creating captivating hand-rendered visuals relating to the natural world.
I use illustration to honor the places and creatures that often go unnoticed. My goal is to remind viewers of the amazing intricacy of our planet. I hope that after seeing my work, people will spend a few more minutes scouring the forest floor for tiny treasures on their next adventure into the woods.
Another passion of mine is creating illustrations that break down educational and scientific information in a way that is engaging to a broader audience. I want to make learning accessible to work toward a deeper collective understanding of how the earth works.
I am also an educator. So far, I’ve enjoyed teaching field sketching, watercolor illustration & outdoor observation workshops in schools, national parks, and REI stores.
