Mountain Laurel, Lady Slipper, and Bloodroot Blank Cards

This set of blank greeting cards features prints of 3 original watercolor illustrations. These botanical illustrations feature Kalima latifolia, the white mountain laurel; Cypripedium parviflorum, the yellow lady slipper; and Sanguinaria canadensis, or bloodroot flower. Both plants can be found in the Appalachian forests… if you just go out and look for them!

These cards are printed on off white "Starch White” 100lb Hemptone card stock from French Paper Co. so they are both eco friendly and feel specially crafted. Craft paper brown envelopes are included.

Hi, I'm Marianne, the designer and watercolor illustrator behind Ivy Line Design. I grew up in Somerset, OH, and for as far back as I can remember I loved making art. I constantly had the max number of items checked out from the local library so I could spend hours upon hours drawing and tracing from animal and how-to-draw books. 

I knew I wanted to have some kind of creative career so I attended the Columbus College of Art & Design. I happened to take a watercolor class as an elective my senior year... and I was terrible at it! Fast forward a few years and I started experimenting with watercolor and hand lettering to create cocktail illustrations. I love traveling and am very prone to making messes with paint, so once I realized how portable and easy to clean up watercolor paint was I was hooked! 

Fast forward a few more years and I started Ivy Line Design as my freelance business. My specialties are vibrant and detailed watercolor illustrations of plant and animal life, food, as well as landscapes. I use my illustrations for a variety of projects such as greeting cards that I almost always create right at my home studio in Huntington, WV.
