The exposing of a "Top Secret State Government Project" is made public by a fearless reporter for a West Virginian weekly county newspaper. Jim Wilson, journalist for the Webster Echo and Webster Republican, unveiled the existence of a mysterious creature called the Abbagoochie. This creature was introduced into the wilds of the state by the WVDNR. Clandestine meetings between state officials and officials of Costa Rica, led to this secret operation in 1999, which has since caused havoc in the mountainous counties of the state.
The book also contains several hilariously true Game Warden stories that were told to the author "straight from the Game Warden's mouth." Read how Gabe fares while attacking a live bear with nothing but a Buck folding hunter knife. Read a bittersweet story of the mysterious relationship between a Game Warden and a fisherman.
Read about how many times Game Wardens become friends with the poachers that they arrest. Read how West Virginia's only female Conservation Officer handles macho-male violators. Meet Jubert Russell and see how the author and a couple of his Game Warden buddies turned this respected senior citizen of Webster County into a Super Poacher. Read how Arval rode his buck right to the vehicle after bagging and tagging him.
Jim Wilson ditched his city life in Huntington, West Virginia in 1994, and along with his wife Betty and family pets, moved to the rugged and remote mountains of Randolph County, WV. They joined Snowshoe Mountain Resort's Courtesy Patrol in 1994 and were still patrolling as of the book's publication. Jim fished and wrote the rest of the year, had been an active member of the OWAA (Outdoor Writers Association of America) since 1993 and had been published in Wonderful West Virginia and Goldenseal magazines. He still wrote a column, the Country Store Corner, for the Webster Echo and also other regional outdoor publications. The Abbagoochie Gotcha was Jim's 4th published book. The author passed away in 2013 at the age of 73.
