Parkersburg Ghost Cats Postcard

Once a library (until 1976) and a bookstore (until 2010), this historic landmark, the Trans Allegheny Bookstore, is home to many ghosts. A few are even kind of cute, like the Parkersburg Ghost Cats! Slinking throughout the building are three gaunt, feline specters—two tabbies and one black furred; they are known to knock objects off shelves and cause visitors to stumble. The creatures have surprisingly solid forms and can be seen on stairs or near windows; once they are acknowledged, though, they vanish into thin air.
