Viewed atop Spruce Knob, the highest point in West Virginia, the distant mountains that cut through the Allegheny Front become colorized by the sun’s rays and hazy mountain air mixing with the palate of dark monochromatic blue mounds of earth, brushing across ridge lines creating purple before fading to a blaze of orange and yellows.

My name is Jesse Thornton, a native of Point Pleasant and current resident of Huntington, West Virginia. This state is truly an outdoor mecca with a variety of rich scenery, furnishing different looks throughout the four seasons of the year. Influenced by fantasy and science, my aim is to capture the surreal nature of these landscapes in hopes of encouraging others to discover (or rediscover) the beauty of West Virginia!
Location: Huntington, WV
