Monarch Life Cycle Art Print 12x12

This vibrant monarch butterfly lifecycle illustration was painted by me using watercolors. The print was created by a local print shop in West Virginia using archival quality inks and paper. I sign each print before it goes to its new home, so every print has been touched by the artist's hands!

My nature illustrations are inspired by the amazing creatures that I encounter on my hikes through the woods. My current series, Tiny Worlds of West Virginia, features a new quirky creature of the region every month. The milkweed fields on our farm are crawling with monarchs in the month of September.

Fun fact: September 12th has been officially declared "West Virginia Monarch Butterfly Day."

This print is 12" x 12", which is a standard size to make it easy to find inexpensive framing options.

Hello! I’m Rosalie.

I’m an illustrator specializing in creating captivating hand-rendered visuals relating to the natural world.

I use illustration to honor the places and creatures that often go unnoticed. My goal is to remind viewers of the amazing intricacy of our planet. I hope that after seeing my work, people will spend a few more minutes scouring the forest floor for tiny treasures on their next adventure into the woods.

Another passion of mine is creating illustrations that break down educational and scientific information in a way that is engaging to a broader audience. I want to make learning accessible to work toward a deeper collective understanding of how the earth works.

I am also an educator. So far, I’ve enjoyed teaching field sketching, watercolor illustration & outdoor observation workshops in schools, national parks, and REI stores.
