An illustration based on the legendary cryptid- the Mothman! Mothman is one of the most famous Appalachian cryptids, with several legends surrounding him. Some paint the being as a bad omen, others a result of radioactive waste on the environment, but there are also some that refer to him as an angel of death and destruction. However, every tale mentions the creature’s connection to the infamous collapse of the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant, WV (1967) that killed forty-six people. Supernatural or mutated, the winged man has captivated and terrified thousands.
8 1/2 x 11 art prints of West Virginia cryptids based on original drawings by Kristen Puckett.
I'm a pretty quiet person from Southern Ohio that loves monsters, animals, stories, and history. I moved to Fairbanks, AK to study art and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2017, afterward moving to & working in El Paso, TX. Currently, I reside in Lucasville, OH.
I enjoy outdoor activities - like hiking, kayaking, and sightseeing - reading, drawing, throwing pottery, sculpting, playing video games, and playing dungeons and dragons with my friends. ~Kristen Puckett - Appalachian Illustrator, Folklorist, & Ceramicist
