"Day Hoot": A true owl (strigidae), the Day Hoot is a subspecies of Barred Owl native to the Appalachian region. It is thought to cause death and strikes terror in the hearts of those who see it and know its story. If it is heard while the sun is still visible, and is looked in the eye, the unlucky onlooker will die within 3 days.

"Departure Bird": Cracks open windows to sing a deadly lullaby to victims; once fast asleep, it uses its long, sharp, hard tongue to suck out the brain.

"Proboscis Bird": A sightless bird with an excellent sense of smell. If its babies are touched by other animals, it will become hostile to it, consuming the youngling entirely.
